First charters are around the corner

First charters are around the corner...

Time flies ! Another charter season is in front of us and it is so exciting !

Whether it’s your first time being in charge or you’ve done it before and are now branching out on your own, there are always some new experiences and lessons to take away.

Just a little bit more and we will welcome our first guests on board !

CREW

If you're taking a crew along, make sure they’re comfortable with the boat and know their roles. Everyone should understand basic safety procedures, where the life vests are, how to operate the radio and the emergency exits. If it’s a solo or small crew charter, ensure you’re ready to manage everything yourself, but have support on call in case of emergency.

CHECK-IN PROCEDURE

Make sure to pay attention during the check-in procedure with Noa technical team and ask any questions you might have. Although technical support is on your disposal during your sailing, it is always better to collect as much as information possible during the handover of the boat, so you can spend more relaxed sailing time.

WEATHER

Check weather forecast before your start your trip, and of course, during your charter. Know your wind and tide patterns, so you can plan your day(s) accordingly. If the forecast changes, stay flexible.

GROCERIES

Prepare/provide food and drinks for your sailing in advance especially if you are sailing in preseason because working hours of markets and restaurants on the islands are not as in high season. Pack enough water, snacks, and meals. Don’t forget about seasickness remedies (in case some from your crew has problems with it), sunscreen and a hat.

CHARTER CONTRACT

Make sure to check your charter terms & conditions and all necessary details such as arrival/departure time, fuel charges on time.

Also, take note of any existing damages or issues before you set sail to avoid any kind of misunderstandings later.

HAVE FUN, BUT SAFETY FIRST

Safety first. If the weather turns bad or if conditions are too rough for your comfort level, it’s always okay to change plans.

Have some planned activities or routes for your vacation, but of course stay flexible in case weather turns differently then expected. In other words, prioritise safety especially if you’re in unfamiliar seas.

Take into account all necessary listed information to ensure a smooth sailing experience and wonderful memories for your crew.

If you have any last-minute questions or need any advice, don't hesitate to get in touch with the Noa team.

Enjoy your sailing !
