Skradin is a typical Mediterranean town made up of narrow stone-paved streets, arched alleyways, passages, and stairs.
It’s worth a visit to Skradin just to sail up the river, but once there, a trip into the Krk National Park is a must. After mooring your yacht, a short ferry boat ride takes you to the park entrance from where you can walk up to the first of 7 waterfalls which total some 240 meters in height and also take a swim in cold river water before you sail back to the marina.
Skradin has one of the most beautiful marinas in Croatia.
ACI MARINA SKRADIN (022) 771-365 - is on a bay northwest of the port. There are 210 berths on pontoon docks. The marina is open year-round. The greatest depth of the sea is 2 m.
For all gastronomy enthusiast, we would suggest several things; specialties of this region are sea and river fish prepared under the baking lid or “peka“ and famous Skradin cake. We suggest also to try Skradinski risotto, but be aware that you have to make a reservation in advance because it takes 12 hours of cooking. The tradition dictates that only male members of the family can prepare it.
The main reason to visit the heavily forested and largely uninhabited island today is its nautical, diving and fishing potential; the flora and fauna as much in pristine state underwater, as on the island itself.
Don’t miss to explore Skradin during your Sailing trip!
